Picnic Grove is too wide to for us to stay in one place. After we tried the wohh! The breath taking Zipline, we walked to Hanging Bridge and took some pictures of it. I like the symmetry of the ropes. This is perfect for pre-nuptial shooting for couple who love adventure and nature. The hanging bridge is made of old wood and thick ropes. Like what I’m always saying, I’m afraid of heights yet I dare to cross the bridge as I can see that It is safe though it is old. It is connecting the picnic area where lots of cottages are located near the Zipline and the other part of the picnic grove where the entrance is near.

Who says a morning date is a corny thing?

Spice up a unique date experience in Picnic Grove Tagaytay. If you are a kind of person who loves surprises like me, then this maybe a good idea for you to try. Why don’t you set up a date in a park? Do you think it is an old school? Maybe yes, but still its unique nowadays and you and your special someone will definitely enjoy too!

Here are the following tips I would recommend:

1.   Plan ahead of time, plot a vacation leave or do it on weekend.

2.   Advise your partner that you are going to an outdoor place so she/he can prepare,   her/his most comfortable outfit. Imagine if you didn't tell him/her.
What if she wore a fitted dress that would make him irritable or he wore slacks.

3.    Wake up early in the morning on the actual day to prepare your personally made baon.   I think cooking or preparing for someone is one of the sweetest things you can do for your special someone.

4.   Best time in the morning to have a picnic is around 8am -11am. The sun is not too hot by that time.

5.   Bring a music player or a mobile music player will do. Let the music merge with the nice ambiance to complete your romantic morning date.

6.   Then enjoy eating together while having a fun conversation.

Having a date can be sweet or even sweeter in the morning.
You may also try these after your picnic:

MUST KNOW:

Tagaytay Picnic Grove Barrio Sungay Tagaytay City Cavite Tel: (63+46) 413-4206
Picnic Grove is a public park and Zipline is the hottest Activity to try here.

Must Do: Back to Basic - Picnic with Family and Friends

Nowadays, people rarely spend time for a picnic with family or friends because of the warm weather and polluted air. It is very hard to spot a clean and fresh Park where we could stay and bond with friends. Usually, we go to mall and other covered and air-conditioned places for our comfortable bonding. However, we really cannot alternate the enjoyment that the wonderful green parks can bring.(I’m not against malls, because I do love malling). Even malls are now maintaining artificial green fields inside them or within their vicinity. Why do we not try again to be refreshed by nature’s calmness while we have Picnic Grove which is just near the City of Manila? Let us go back to basic, pack-up some lunch for the whole family and friends. Fill our tummy with personally made baon  and be mesmerized by the overlooking view of Taal Lake @ Picnic Grove.

Picnic Grove Entrance Fee : P 50.00
Parking: P 50.00

MUST KNOW – The Origin of Palace in the Sky and How to Get there.

Palace in the Sky is originally owned by Marcos Family (Former President Ferdinand Marcos) as their guest House and became open to the public when Marcos was dethroned as the Philippine president. It is also known as “People’s Park”

How to get to Palace in the Sky from Rotunda/ Olivarez Plaza:

Before getting to Olivarez Plaza, you may also know how to get to Rotunda/OlivarezPlaza from Manila. You can refer to this previous post.

From Rotunda/ Olivarez Plaza, you can see the Chowking. Facing Chowking, follow the road on your right side. This will take you to the terminal going to Palace in the Sky which is also the route going to Picnic Groove. The terminal is just a vacant lot which you may not recognize because the jeepneys are not visible as they parked at the inner part of the vacant lot. The terminal is along Chowking’s side. You may find it far if you will walk from Rotunda. Other option is to ride Tricycle directly from Rotunda to Palace in the Sky. It is more costly than to ride a jeep ofcourse.

Note that there is no Taxi in Tagaytay, anyway, expect that riding a tricycle may charge you a taxi fare price hehe..

Fare Cost:

Option 1: Jeepney going to Picnic groove/ Palace in the Sky

Option 2: Tricycle –  P 60 –P 100 depending on the driver

MUST DO: Feel the Thrill : Overlooking @ Palace in the Sky

The view of the Palace in the Sky is breath taking. You can see the magnificent view of Taal lake, Laguna Bay, Balayan and Manila Bay. Going up is challenge for aero phobic like me as I can see the cliff. I was totally surprised when we got there at the entrance! Just like any other visitors who were very thrilled as they reached the entrance too. Upon entering the entrance, we were welcomed by attractive flowers and different kinds of plants for sale. The ambiance is very foggy that I cant almost see the road. It wass just like the clouds were just within our reach. It is too cold given the fact that we’re in a higher place, the typhoon was also approaching that day. We attempted to go to the uttermost area so that we can perfectly see that highest view but we failed to do so because it is too foggy and the stairs were slippery due to rainfall. We found it dangerous if we proceed to walk more. We may not know if the rain will continue to fall and become heavy and it is possible that we’ll get stranded there at the top and no one could see us to help. Lol, maybe I’m li’ll bit paranoid of getting stranded. We only reached the second level of the open building ( It is how I call it) where there is a Mini Chapel and a Big statue of Jesus Christ.

Then we also stopped and waited for the rain to stop at the souvenir shop. It made me laugh when I saw the sign on the store that “Tourist should pay P5.00 for every picture taken in front of the shop”.

Souvenir Shop

NOTE: The above pictures are not blurred, it is just very foggy and cold

Tip: It is advisable to check the weather before going here.  You may not totally enjoy if it’s raining. Though my experience here was great, You may enjoy it more if you can roam around without having your umbrella while controlling your walk to prevent sliding. You may also see the clear view of Tagaytay from the highest point of Palace in the Sky. You may first check PAGASA Website: http://www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/

Entrance fee: P 30.00

Must EAT:

I’m not sure if there is a restaurant at its vicinity. However, there is a multipurpose store here. But I suggest, you MUST EAT on restaurants outside the Peoples Park listed on this post. Must Eat: The taste of tagaytay. List of restaurants and recommended food to try.

Tagaytay is a peaceful place, yet you will never find it boring to stay here. There are lots and lots of fun awaiting us that the whole family and friends will enjoy. It is often a place for kids field trip. As far as I remember, when I was in kinder, on our field trip, we went to Palace in the sky. I believe, there is no Residence Inn and Paradizoo there yet that time because if there are, I’m sure our class will also visit it.

When it comes to adventure, don’t miss to try zip line and trekking. If you want your bonding to be chill and simple, just walk around the park listed below, feel the cool breeze and greenery field. Have time to play and eat together on the field. Treat your feet a spa with the little fishes and watch over the Taal lake while the boat is smoothly sailing on a calm water.

Find out more below for a more detailed review.

Tagaytay is very accessible for backpackers like me who prefer to travel via public vehicle.
In this part, I will just give the direction and transportation going to the midpoint of Tagaytay or the central I where you can take different route going to your specific destination in Tagaytay. This is called Olivarez Plaza or Rotonda (sometimes I heard it pronounced as Rotunda). The first time I commuted here, I was confused when the driver told us that we're already in Rotunda while the term I know where we can be drop off is Olivarez Plaza which is referring to Rotunda also. So be mindful and ask the driver to drop you off in Rotunda or Olivarez Plaza.

Tagaytay Location: Province of Cavite

Option 1: Buses from TAFT BUENDIA - JAM Transit
Option 2: Kirby Bus to Tagaytay from Lawton
Option 3: Mendez-Tagaytay route bus from Harison Plaza
Option 4: Crow Transit and BLTB in EDSA, behind Sogo and Mcdonals
Option 5: FX or Van from Starmall, Shaw Boulevard
Option 6: FX or VAn from EDSA Rotonda.Nasugbu or Lemery route

Yey! After so long, I finally created my new blog site. Putting up a blog site is not that easy as I first thought. You need to think of the scope you want to cover. For example, you want to focus on fashion or travel and food reviews or… if you are a mom, then your topics would be more on parenting and house wife life and stuffs. My gosh! My problem is, I want to cover all! So, for me to have a free writing blog, I didn’t limit myself to express everything and anything I want. This is just a generic blog, a diary type or what so called “anything under the sun”. I am so happy I finally came up to an idea in which I can put everything in here and categorize it to its proper coverage.

Why I entitled this blog as "Sassy Zeal - Sassy's Zealousness" ?

Zealous is defined as intense enthusiasm, being passionate, keen, devoted, avid and fanatical. These words perfectly describe me. Me being a sassy girl who is extremely interested in finding new things under the sun. A food lover, a backpacker, a chic and a devoted Christian.

As a christian, my greatest purpose in life  is to share God's love and goodness to my life. I intend to spread possibility and inspirational experiences too.

Also, I will share some blog post about a certain destination, I want to introduce to you the most interesting part. I will call it "KISSED". This is the Acronym for must Know,Interesting fact about a certain place, food and on any other topic posted in this blog. Directions, budget tips and ways to enjoy will be also provided,  must See, must Stay at, must Eat and must Do.

Being sassy is being stylish too. I will post some fashion trends and beauty discoveries, reviews about clothing and beauty products and feature new great deals and promos online.

I will also share anything i've learn on how to do stuffs...

All I want is to share....to inspire....to be Sassy and to be Zealous..

God bless readers !

Do you know where the word TAGAYTAY came from?

Photo taken at the Picnic Groove overlooking cottages
It is the combination of two tagalog words "taga" (to cut) and "itay" (father).

This started when a father and son were hunting a wild boar. Suddenly, the wild boar attacked them. As the animal reached the father, the son cried repeatedly “taga itay!” A loud shout that was heard by the citizens of this countryside. The shout became source of commotion in the area. Since then, the place was called TAGAYTAY which is very famous tourist spot until today.
