Sassyzeal

Tagaytay is known as second Baguio of the Philippines due to its cold weather. Who doesn’t crave for a sizzling hot soup? Aside from it will really help one survive in Tagaytay’s freezing cold temperature, the best Bulalo is in the house!
As I was saying in my post MUST EAT: Bulalo @ Mahogany Market Tagaytay, “Leslie’s Bulalo still stays on top for me”. So here is my review of Leslie’s Restaurant Tagaytay.

THE VIEW

The first time I went there was 2010. Miel brought me there for a formal date. With this majestic scenery of Taal Lake and the cold breeze, I fell in love with Tagaytay the first time. His plan was really a success. At the end of the day, he gave me this ring. Ops! Don’t think that this is an engagement ring because it’s not. We call it formality ring. Never mind! Haha.

Outside cottages

Hanging Bridge

We enjoyed the view outside before the night comes. There is a little cottage at the edge. More romantic. I think it has a separate payment for using this instead of dining inside the restaurant.

Inside the restaurant, the light is mellow and there is a music team roaming around serenading dinners.
You may also request for songs. Cool!

They also provide ample Parking
THE FOOD
Here are some of their best sellers:

The best ever Leslie’s Bulalo worth 599.
Most of the prices are quite expensive though worth the price!
They serve a huge bowl of Bulalo. Tastier ever! You can taste every ingredient such as corn etc. You can also scoop for the bone marrow. This the very healthy flesh inside the big bone. This serving is not only good for 2.

Turon De Leslie P199
Sugpo sa Aligue 449
Leslie’s Restaurant is also in demand as a wedding venue too!

Customer Service
Well, in terms of customer service, don’t expect that you will be happy with it. Because for many times we went there, they provided the same service. Don’t expect that someone will welcome you and will accompany you to your table. Expect that it will be hard for you to call their attention when you need to so once someone comes to you, grab the opportunity to ask for everything that you need.

Leslie’s Restaurant has also a branch somewhere in Alabang.

One of the finest 5 star hotels in Manila is situated along Roxas Boulevard, The Diamond Hotel.

Diamond Hotel is not new to me since my best friend's debut was held there. My cousin’s favorite pasalubong is the famous ensaymada from Corniche and now my birthday was celebrated here.

Yeh! It's my birthday! Every year, I do planning on where to go and how to celebrate my birthday ahead of time. This year, I decided not to expect anything and let things flow. Luckily! Miel surprised me with a fine dining experience in Corniche, Diamond Hotel. Yes! It was actually a surprise even though I did the search and reservation. Lol!

I did my research first. The regular price of buffet in Corniche is P 1,780 nett per person. I looked for any ongoing promo and discount over the net. Checked the group buying sites and deals like Metrodeal, Cashcashpinoy and Ensogo, sadly, there was none. I called the reservation office and scrutinized for any promotions. The receptionist told me that for that day, there is none. She advised me to like and watch out for updates in their Facebook account because most probably, the promotion for my birthday week will be released afternoon of the day I called. (Friday morning). There was no update on their Facebook account until Monday morning. I called again for reservation and asked if I can avail the half price promo that was not published yet on their Facebook. Gotcha! The receptionist said Yes. Well, I have to thank Kristine (she’s working at Corniche) as well for advising me to asked again for the promo and for the reserved birthday cake.

The lesson here is... SCRUTINIZE for unpublished promos and discounts! As I always advise in any of my writings, always ask and seek.

Corniche is the hotel's restaurant located at the lobby level of Diamond Hotel. This restaurant is very elegant and classy. The interior is well pleasing to dinners. Best place for business meeting while having lunch or dinner, team building or family gathering and most specially a perfect sight for a dinner date.
The ambiance is lovelier at night due to romantic lights plus the luxury of dining table and food section.

We requested our table near the falls. The lushly landscaped garden view and rock formation with cascading waterfall burst our appetite.

There are several stations in Corniche:

Seafood Station, Asian cuisine Station, appetizer station, grilling section and the best ever desert station.

These are fresh seafood. You may choose any and ask the chef to cook it for you.

Baked fish
BEEF PIZZA
Charsu Pork and Lechong Macau
Paella Negra

Miriani Rice
Tempura

We’ve requested for my birthday cake in advance

Buffet Time:
Lunch: 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Dinner:  6:00 PM - 10:30 PM

For Reservations, call 528-3000.

The Corniche is located at the lobby level of Diamond Hotel, Roxas Boulevard corner Dr. . Quintos Street, Manila

In order for me to answer the question “What can I give to the Philippines as a gift?”,
I assessed the situation of our country first and asked myself,
“What does Philippines needs” I stumbled because I know there is a lot!

If I will think of a best gift to give to the Philippines, I will give a package of honest officials, crystal clear budget and expense breakdown, a good education, justifiable employee benefits, senior citizens pension, every Filipino health care benefits, enough blue and white collar job opportunities, fair justice and cost of living, every family a home and a Philippines good reputation.

I am not mocking or lying and please don’t think that pretending to be God. Seriously, these all can be possible with one best gift I can give in general.
“A genuine daily prayer for the Philippines”.
Intangible, yes! But this is the best gift I could ever think of.  Prayer is the most powerful force. According to the book of Luke, for God, nothing shall be impossible. Matthew 7:7-8 in the bible says, “Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Believing in the Power of Prayer is trusting His will even if we can’t see a clear picture of His plan, even if there are a lot of questions bothering us and even if He said “NO”. Remember that there are only three answers to a prayer, Yes, No and wait. It’s always up to our faith until when to wait for our prayers to be granted. I will pray for the Philippines for the package of gifts I mentioned above. I will keep my faith and will wait for them to happen. And even when I died, I know that my prayer will not be in vain for I know that my future generation will enjoy what I already prayed for the Philippines.

Prayer without work is dead. We need to help ourselves as well and show God that we are doing something with our desires. Same case with a young boy begging a PSP4 from his dad, He knows that his dad can afford it, still, he exerts some effort to show to his dad that he seriously wants that as a reward. He is studying so hard and proving that he deserves a PSP4. He is also saving money from his daily allowance as well. The point is, aside from a prayer, a sincere action is a big deal. The gift of a prayer with the touch of hand in action can best heal the Philippines.

Among us teens and adults, who still knows “Panatang Makabayan” which usually recited in school ceremony?

English Version

I love the Philippines.
It is the land of my birth;
It is the home of my people.
It protects me and helps me to be strong, happy and useful.
In return, I will heed the counsel of my parents;
I will obey the rules of my school;
I will perform the duties of a patriotic, law-abiding citizen;
I will serve my country unselfishly and faithfully
I will be a true Filipino in thought, in word, and in deed.

A hand in action of every individual – this speaks of doing the simplest and the basic duty of a Filipino. To be a true Filipino in thought, in word, and in deed. No need to further discus. Hopefully, every one of us is still aware of this. That alone can explain what every Filipino should do.

I know that the Philippines faces left and right corruption issues, I can't beg for those corrupt officials to stop it but I myself can pray for them to and I can do my part to refrain from the tiniest form of corruption in my everyday life. A good example is refraining from paying fixers along the long line of NBI clearance, arrangement with MMDA when caught due to road violation and accepting stuffs especially money from politician on candidacy period.

I know starvation is one of our major problems most especially in depressed areas. I can’t feed them all but what I can do is to pray for them and be involved in some feeding program by NGO and by other private companies. Dropping some amount for disaster victims is not a huge damage for me. It’s better to give than to receive. Who wants to be devastated? No one!

What I’ve mentioned are only few small actions, but there are bunch of things we can do as a simple gift to the Philippines.

Imagine if we every one of us thinks the same way and do the same action as a responsible Filipino citizen? There will be peace, discipline and a better Philippines. I can’t say it’s totally perfect, but somehow minimizing the unpleasant works.

If I alone can pray and offer a hand in action for the Philippines, anyone among us can also do. Just give time and realize what RIGHT is.

The gift of a prayer with the touch of hand in action is the best gift I can give to the Philippines. Simple, yet powerful if every one of us took it seriously and sincerely.

How about you?
If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift?
Let us know and inspire us with what you want to give to the Philippines.

Date as sweet as this cake? Try what we've tried!

We always dine in buffet restaurants though I don't eat much. I just like to have array of Asian and international dishes to choose from. One of the most remarkable buffet dinning we had was in Midas Cafe. We celebrated our Valentines date 2013 there.

Midas Cafe is at the second floor of Midas Hotel which is known as luxurious 5 star hotel in the Philippines. Midas Cafe has a very stylish and elegant interior. We got a romantic spot in there which we really enjoyed that night. The light is dim but not to dark for us not to see the food.

A wide variety of food hot and cold are all enticing!

Barbecue of different meat

Fresh Seafood

Wide array of  International cuisine

Bread

Baked crushed Salmon ( my ever favorite!)

SALAD BAR:

Desserts

One of the highlights of dinning in Midas Cafe this valentine is the overloaded variety of sweets. Dark and white chocolate fountain. Creme Brulee, chocolate mouse, mango, strawberry smoothies, crepe, mixed fruits dip, custard cake, black forest, macaroons, mini cupcakes, name it! I think almost everything is here. I wasn't able to upload all though.

Crepe
They can personalize the crepe combination of your choice. Mango, blueberry, buts, almond, chocolate, anything.

This place is very private and classy which the two of us really treasured.
You can fully enjoy this luscious dinner date for the price of P 1,920 net per head. Lunch and dinner buffets with unlimited soda, juice of hot beverages.
